Assalamu alaykum sir
May Allah grant you goodness and make you end well.
Is it permissible to pay a condolent visit to the family of a deceased Christian… If yes, what are the etiquettes that should be observed
Wa alaykum as-salaamu wa rahmatullahi.
Praise be to Allah; may the blessing and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah.
There is nothing wrong in offering condolence to the relatives of a non Muslim who has just died on condition that the person did not declare enmity against Islam and the Muslims while he was alive since Allah does not forbid us from being nice to such people.
Translation of the meaning
( Allah does not forbid you from being nice and just to those who do not fight you and do not chase you out of your dwellings. Certainly Allah loves the just ones)
[Surah Al-Mumtahana 8]
As for how to commiserate with his relatives, we ask them to be patient on the loss that has befallen them and ask Allah to rectify what he left behind.
