Explanation of the Hadeeth: إن في أصحابي اثنا عشر منافقا…

Finally, it is Cristal clear that the defiant deviants only want to cast aspersions on the Ṣahābah and by extension, the Prophet himself Sallallahu alayhi wasallam, and the Deen because, every single phrase and wording of this hadeeth and the Āyāt was never directed to the  Noble companions (Radiyallahu ‘anhum), if such an allegation is levelled against an ordinary Muslim, it is the duty of other Muslims to debunk the allegation let alone the Ṣahābah!

Allāh says:

“لَّوۡلَاۤ إِذۡ سَمِعۡتُمُوهُ ظَنَّ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَـٰتُ بِأَنفُسِهِمۡ خَیۡرࣰا وَقَالُوا۟ هَـٰذَاۤ إِفۡكࣱ مُّبِین”)
Translation of the meaning:

“Why then, did not the believers, men and women, when you heard it (the slander) think good of their own people and say: “This (charge) is an obvious lie?”

Surat An-Nur: 12

I will like to remind my readers the perils of vilifying the noble companions or insinuating such about them.

1. They(the vilifiers) should be beaten harshly:

Ibn Taymiyyah says:

“As for those who insult the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) whether from his family or others, Imam Ahmad said: they should be beaten harshly, but he did not declare their disbelief nor he said they must be killed.”(As Ṣārim Al Maslūl ‘Ala Shātimi Rasūl  3/1055)

2. They are Zindeeqs

Fudayl Bn ‘Iyād said:

“If you find anyone casting aspersions on the companions know that he is “Zindeeq” because the Qur’an and Sunnah are true, no one narrates the Qur’an and Sunnah to us except the companions, those people only want to calumniate our witnesses so as to invalidate the Qur’an and Sunnah, they deserve to be vituperated, for they are Zindeeqs”

3. They can be accused of being apostatized

” Al Maymouny said: “I heard Imam Ahmad saying: “Why do they speak badly about Mu`awiyah?! We ask Allah for the good speech. He said to me: “O Abu Al Hasan, if you see anyone mentions the Companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) badly, accuse him with apostatizing from Islam.”(“As Ṣārim Al Maslūl ‘Ala Shātimi Rasūl  3/1055)

Conclusively, attributing “Nifāq” to the companions is a form of insult to their persons because they were never one according to the Qur’an and Sunnah.

Some of the aforementioned deviant sects insulted a number of the Companions because they either believe that they have apostatized or have done major sins in their view so, it does not behove a well meaning Muslim to attribute such to them if truely he understands his religion and I pray Allāh to guide us.

I have complied this for the sake of purifying the Prophet’s noble companions and as response to the tantrums of the uninformed fellows who denegrate the companions in the name of contemporary research, likewise to serve as eye opener for the gullible ones who may want to dance to the evil mongers tones.

I implore Allāh to accept it as an act of ‘Ibaadah.
